Mechanical Engineering Services
AimDesign can pull from a team of engineers who are experts in a variety of fields from medical to consumer goods and subsea engineering. Depending on the product we can pull in the right talent and can assure a successful outcome. Having the involvement of engineering early ensures that design reflects reality, but it does not limit creativity. When the two disciplines brainstorm, each has to give a little to come up with the ultimate solution. Engineering keeps in mind the scope manufacturability, safety compliance, cost etc…

Engineering Process

-
Envelope Scope
Before the sketching begins, we try to get a scope of what the requirements of the product are. What are the internal components that the design has to fit around. Batteries PC’s etc…. . We can brainstorm a different envelope here that can be used as a baseline for concept sketches. Get these requirement definedearly in the design process assures a path to success. it helps with the COGS targets, and structural and performance needs. -
Mechanical Concept
The ideation concepts are developed with this mechanical envelope in mind and therefore have a high rate of feasibility and can be reviewed for manufacturing details like molding and assembly while addressing structural, thermal, or other high-performance requirements. These mechanical concepts can be therefore accurately reviewed by the engineering team. -
Design for Manufacturing
The Engineering phase keeps in mind what choice of materials are required and these will be discussed early with manufacturers to ensure costa target will be met based on the specifications. -
Mechanism Testing & Iteration
To prove the mechanism design we would turn to early prototyping and make quick iterations using foam model, clay or quick CAD model and 3d printing. These will assure the proof of concept and engineering and will determine a more successful high fidelity mockup success.
